Phatcharaphan Chanthep

Phatcharaphan Chanthep (b. 1987, Thailand) attempts to reconcile the past and future by unfolding the progression of time vis-à-vis pop culture references and historical icons through her mastery of watercolour. Her visual cues are familiar yet displaced, and purposefully juxtaposed. There is also a certain degree of historical distortion within the visual narrative, muddling the lines between existence and myth, suggesting possible intersecting futures. Most importantly, her works stand as a poignant reminder of the ripple effects of time, and its echo into the future.

Solo exhibitions include What A Difference A Day Makes (2019), Richard Koh Projects, Bangkok, Thailand; Between us (2013), Jamjuree Art Gallery, Bangkok, Thailand; When Watercolour Blossom (2011), Club Arts Gallery, Bangkok, Thailand.
