Richard Koh Fine Art (RKFA) is excited to announce the launch of Malaysian painter Justin Lim’s (b. 1983) survey book to commemorate the ten-year anniversary of the ongoing collaboration between Lim and the gallery. This publication serves as a mid-career retrospective – an attempt to take stock of the artist’s career, and to trace and interpret the thematic threads running through Lim’s works as a whole.
Titled In Our Own Frame, this luscious 304-page book encapsulates each of the main phases of Lim’s career, providing a taste of the artist’s various stylistic idioms and consistently recurrent subjects. The core chapters assess the artist’s output show by show, painting by painting, and culminate at the juncture of Lim’s most recent body of work – the Sanctuary series.
This survey book is proudly published by Richard Koh Fine Art and includes in-depth commentary and analysis by Dave Willis, writer and curator specializing in contemporary art in Southeast Asia.
