RKFA Singapore is thrilled to announce “Architecture of Silence”, an upcoming exhibition by Catalan painter and sculptor Ramon Enrich. This evocative showcase will be on display from 25 May to 15 June 2024 at RKFA Singapore’s gallery, located at 47 Malan Road, #01-26 Gillman Barracks, Singapore 109444.
Ramon Enrich’s distinctive artistry blurs the line between seeing and perceiving, compelling viewers to explore the subtle transition where vision merges with understanding. Utilizing architecture as a narrative instrument, Enrich constructs minimalist yet poetic spaces that speak to the complexities of time, modernity, and emotional resonance, urging a deeper contemplation where emotions overshadow visual interpretations.
“Architecture of Silence” features a series of Enrich’s impactful large-scale paintings alongside smaller, intimate works. Each piece serves as a gateway to a private, transformative theatre, capturing ephemeral moments on the cusp of vanishing. Through abstract and emotional architectures, these works articulate a world that is both mythical and intimately familiar.
RKFA Singapore invites visitors to immerse themselves in this unique exhibition, which explores how painting transcends conventional frameworks to embrace the realms of emotional and architectural expression. Through his innovative use of materials, Enrich compels viewers to rethink the essence of painting, proposing a vision that reaches beyond traditional confines to spaces where extraordinary phenomena unfold.
Ramon Enrich was born in Igualada, Spain, in 1968. After completing his studies in Fine Arts and Graphic Arts in Barcelona, at the end of the 1980s, Enrich obtained a scholarship to exhibit in Frankfurt, Marburg, and Berlin. As a big fan of Donald Judd, he then went to the United States to further his education and, at the beginning of the 1990s, he exhibited his works at the Donald Judd Foundation and the Chinati Foundation.
In Los Angeles, he meets Ed Ruscha and works with David Hockney. He then moved to New York where he became assistant to Julian Schnabel. After spending some time in residency at the Künstlerhaus Mousonturm in Frankfurt, he returns to his native Catalonia.
His works can be seen in several galleries and museums in Germany, where he began his career, and they were acquired as important collections for both public and private ones including La Caixa (Barcelona), Fundación Banco Santander (Madrid), Fondation Hermès (Paris), Donald Judd Collection (Texas), David Hockney Collection (Los Angeles), and Generali Foundation (Vienna). He recently exhibited in notable galleries and fairs in Madrid, Barcelona, Vienna, Rotterdam, Paris, Chicago, Berlin, Abu Dhabi and Dubai.
His work has also been published in the main Spanish newspapers (La Vanguardia, El País, ABC, El Periódico) and prestigious magazines including Domus, Vogue, and Diseño Interior.
