Richard Koh Fine Art (RKFA) is pleased to announce In Passing, Within, a solo exhibition by Thai artist Kongsak Kampakdee, taking place at RKFA Bangkok from 19 July to 09 August 2025.
In his latest body of work, Kampakdee presents a series of contemplative paintings that explore the quiet emotional textures of everyday life. Drawing from fleeting personal moments, whether resting alone, engaging in casual conversation, or navigating moments of illness—the artist transforms these ordinary scenes into intimate visual reflections. Each work serves as an entry in a visual diary, capturing the subtle moods and inner states that accompany daily routines.
Rather than straightforward depictions of life’s passing moments, Kampakdee’s paintings delve into the emotional undercurrents that shape our lived experience. Through soft hues and gentle compositions, he evokes the atmosphere and resonance of familiar yet often overlooked moments—imbuing them with a sense of warmth, fatigue, solitude, or quiet contentment.
In Passing, Within invites viewers to pause, reflect, and connect with the unspoken emotional narratives that dwell beneath the surface of the everyday. The exhibition marks a continuation of Kampakdee’s commitment to introspective, emotionally grounded painting that speaks quietly, yet profoundly, to shared human experience.
KONGSAK KAMPAKDEE (b.1996, Khonkaen, Thailand) is a Thai painter whose work explores the emotional depth of everyday life through subtle, introspective compositions. A graduate of Silpakorn University’s Faculty of Painting, Sculpture and Graphic Arts, his practice transforms ordinary moments, quiet conversations, resting figures, still interiors—into visual reflections of memory, presence, and internal dialogue.
Working primarily in oil on canvas, Kongsak employs a soft, muted color palette of earth tones, greys, and gentle blues to evoke stillness and emotional atmosphere. His figurative scenes are tender and restrained, often capturing moments of vulnerability, solitude, or quiet connection. With each work, he invites viewers into a space between observation and remembrance, where personal feeling and passing time quietly converge.
Kongsak has held solo exhibitions in Thailand and Singapore, including In Passing, Within and Everyday Encounters, Silent Connections at Richard Koh Fine Art. His paintings offer a quiet meditation on contemporary life, delicate yet resonant, introspective yet deeply human, reflecting the intimate emotional textures that linger just beneath the surface of the everyday.
