Fasang Navaaran

Fasang Navaaran‘s (b. 1967, Thailand) art is defined by the combination of colors, lines, and forms, focusing on simplicity and natural materials. His work often incorporates found objects and geometric arrangements, where the beauty lies in the harmony of composition rather than in strict order. Navaaran’s approach to art is heartfelt, showcasing his belief that any object can be valuable and transformed into an art piece.

Navaaran began his artistic journey at the College of Technology and Vocational Education (now Rajamangala University of Technology Isan) in 1983. He studied Fine Arts and later Architecture before financial struggles cut his education short. Despite limited art scenes outside Bangkok, Navaaran found guidance from local figures like Tawee Ratchaneekorn and Chavalit Soemprungsuk, and through these influences, he explored art beyond traditional boundaries.

His breakthrough came in 1999 with a solo exhibition in Bangkok, leading to regular exhibitions throughout the following decade. Influenced by artists like Robert Rauschenberg and Montien Boonma, his work evolved toward minimalism, using unconventional materials. Navaaran’s work has been showcased internationally, including at the Biennale Internationale d’Art Non Objectif in France (2013) and various exhibitions in Thailand, Paris, and Poland. Today, he continues to explore new directions in his art from his base in Nakhon Ratchasima, Thailand.
