Richard Koh Fine Art (RKFA) Singapore is pleased to present On View, a group exhibition spotlighting the dynamic and diverse contemporary practices of eight artists from Singapore and Malaysia. The exhibition will run from 30 August to 20 September 2025 at RKFA Singapore, featuring works by Hasanul Isyraf Idris, Hu Qiren, Justin Lim, Ruben Pang, Samuel Xun, Siew Guang Hong, Yeoh Choo Kuan, and Zelin Seah.
Exploring a range of visual expressions across various media, On View offers a compelling dialogue between two neighbouring art scenes—each shaped by distinct cultural influences yet sharing deep regional affinities. The exhibition invites audiences to engage with the creative trajectories of these artists and the themes they confront—ranging from memory and identity to materiality and contemporary spirituality.
Malaysian artist Hasanul Isyraf Idris presents visually complex works drawing from science fiction, comics, and folklore to construct surreal narratives populated by hybrid beings. Equally introspective, Hu Qiren of Singapore explores cultural dualities and value systems through a multidisciplinary lens shaped by photography, video, and performance.
Kuala Lumpur-based Justin Lim contributes works steeped in personal symbolism and regional iconography, while Ruben Pang blurs the line between abstraction and figuration, channeling subconscious gestures into luminous, layered compositions.
The exhibition also highlights emerging voices such as Samuel Xun, whose textile-based works engage in self-reflection through ornamentation and colour, and Siew Guang Hong, who interrogates queer identity and posthuman subjectivities through anatomical assemblage and performance.
Malaysian artist Yeoh Choo Kuan expands the painterly medium with artworks that reflect on emotional tension and socio-political undercurrents. Meanwhile, Zelin Seah investigates everyday spatial voids with site-sensitive interventions, utilizing negative space and unconventional materials to elicit spiritual contemplation.
As part of RKFA’s ongoing commitment to fostering cross-cultural artistic exchanges in Southeast Asia, On View celebrates the diversity of artistic voices within the region, and the evolving visual languages they continue to shape.
